Our Story
Built Through Adversity. Driven by Passion.
Some journeys start with a dream. Ours started with a diagnosis.
The Year Everything Changed
In 2024, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
It's hard to explain what goes through your head when you hear those words "You Have Cancer". Suddenly, life looks a little different. The things you used to worry about don't seem so important, and the things you took for granted mean more than ever.
I wasn't looking to build a brand. I was just trying to find my way through one of the toughest chapters of my life.
That's when Moxie came along.
A German Wirehaired Pointer puppy with a whole lot of personality and a way of reminding me that life doesn't stop just because things get hard. We got Moxie in 2024 as a way to help cope with the challenges cancer had brought into our lives. What I didn't expect was just how much that dog would help reignite my passion for upland hunting. Those early mornings, cold winds, long walks, and wide-open spaces became something I looked forward to again. Sometimes it wasn't about finding birds. Sometimes just getting out there, watching Moxie work, and forgetting about everything else for a few hours was enough.
The uplands became a place to clear my head. And Moxie gave me a reason to keep showing up.
Then Came Kenai
In 2025, we added Kenai to the crew... Another German Wirehair. Another personality. Another reason to pull on the boots and head for the hills.
Watching those dogs work, learning from them, and sharing those moments as a family brought something back into our lives that I didn't realize we'd been missing. Our passion for wild birds and upland hunting wasn't just back. It was stronger than ever!!!
There is something magical about following a bird dog across public land that you can't explain to somebody who's never experienced it. The anticipation when a dog locks on point. The explosion of a covey rise. The long, quiet walk back to the truck after a long day.
Those are the things that stick with you.
Public Land. Wild Birds. Family Traditions.
Those three things are at the heart of All Grit Upland. We believe in protecting public land, honoring wild birds, and preserving the traditions that have connected generations of hunters and families to the outdoors. We believe the memories you make along the way are worth more than the number of birds in your vest. And we believe the next generation deserves the same opportunity to walk these hills, follow good dogs, and experience what makes these wild places so special.
For us, hunting isn't just something we do.
It's part of who we are!
More Than a Clothing Brand
All Grit Upland grew out of this journey. Our apparel and original designs are inspired by the dogs we love, the birds we pursue, the country we walk, and the lifestyle we're proud to live. As we've expanded into All Grit Outdoors, we've embraced more of the outdoor traditions and adventures that mean so much to us.
But the heart of this brand will always be rooted in those upland hills. And the meaning behind our name will always go deeper than a logo on a shirt.
All Grit. No Quit.
Cancer may have started this crazy journey, but it doesn't get to decide where our story ends.
There are still ridges to climb. Wild birds to chase. Dogs to follow. Memories to make.
Not every day is easy. Not every battle is visible. And not every victory comes with a ribbon or a full vest. Sometimes the biggest victory is simply getting up, putting one foot in front of the other, and refusing to give up on the things you love.
That's what All Grit means to us.
Whether you're facing a battle of your own, finding peace somewhere in the outdoors, or following a good dog into the unknown, we hope something about our journey speaks to you.
We're grateful you're here and proud to have you along for the ride.
All Grit. No Quit.
Wild Birds. Public Lands. Good Dogs. A Whole Lot of Heart.
